Description

Lake Gregory is a large, incredibly scenic artificial lake constructed during the British colonial period under Governor William Gregory in 1873. Nestled directly under the green slopes of the tea hills, it is the focal point of Nuwara Eliya's outdoor recreation.

The crisp, cool air makes it perfect for outdoor activities. The lake features beautifully maintained walking paths, pony rides along the bank, and numerous boating options ranging from peaceful pedal-powered swan boats to exhilarating high-speed jet skis. It’s a very popular spot for both tourists and locals to relax.
