Description
The Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic) is arguably the most important Buddhist shrine in Sri Lanka. Housed within the former royal palace complex, it safeguards the reputed tooth of the Buddha, smuggled to the island hidden in a princess's hair in the 4th century.
